WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is a one-of-a-kind, school-based father/grandfather/male role model involvement program that works to support education and safety. Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer at least one day a year. A variety of school activities are assigned by the school principal or other administrator. These men serve as positive role models, encourage and inspire students, and even increase school safety.
There are 2 primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program.
1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
When Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers arrive on campus, Charlotte Ballard, Counselor and Watch D.O.G.S. School Liason, provides details and information about the day.
Leon Simon is the TopDog at Kimberlin and head up the Watch D.O.G.S. program. You can also contact him with any questions or if you’d like to volunteer your time!
